The End of Saigon Sandwich?
Belleville's Saigon Sandwich has changed owners, after having been the pilgrimage of rabid enthusiastic Banh Mi lovers for years. The original owner, who left to "travel the world and find a new wife", according to the new proprietor , still stops in from time to time to check the tiny stand is running correctly. Things have been tidied up a bit, and the sandwiches don't seem to have changed much (the baguette with steamed chicken, cucumber, carrots, cilantro and chili with homemade mayonnaise still hit the spot on a walk through the Buttes Chaumont..) , but is the soul still intact?

Finding a new wife is probably easier than finding a good banh mi.
You could always go to traiteur hoa nam on the avenue d'ivry...
Always thought Chez Yu up the hill at 40 rue de Belleville was much better.
I hope that new owner keep the style and the people in the kitchen, because the food is so delicious in this place, and the girls who come to this place to eat, wow!
